Sourced in Iznik, Turkey, this framed tile is a traditional example of Iznik ceramics. It is handpainted in the Carnation and the Tulip motifs. The Carnation motif, which is based on the Mediterranean native carnation flower, represents purification and renegeration. It is believed that the carnation holds new beginnings, new love, new jobs, and new oppporunites between its petals. The Tulip motif, which is based on the tulip flower, represents the God and spirituality.
